Scintillation activity in an unirradiated single crystal of 3 hydroxyxanthine
Abstract
The purpose of this note is to report the first observations of scintillations from the potent oncogen 3 hydroxyxanthine. Since investigations have shown that this purine N oxide is a demonstrated oncogen, electrical activity in this crystal resulting from a temperature gradient should be important in the overall assessment of oncogenicity.
