Exploring the linkages between collaboration and innovation using faith-based partnerships in the child welfare system
Abstract
Public administration scholarship has gradually shifted its focus from the study of simple, closed management systems to examination of more complex systems involving network governance and cross-sector collaboration. Research in this area has advanced our understanding of how network governance operates and how public managers use collaborative mechanisms to share information, deliver services and solve complex problems (Jones, Hersterly & Borgatti, 1997; Provan & Kenis, 2008; Sørensen & Torfing, 2005).
