Abstract

As we begin 2026, we reflect on a year of growth, innovation, and strengthened community at the University of Memphis Graduate School. In her 2025 Year-End Letter, Vice Provost and Dean Dr. Deborah Tollefsen highlights key accomplishments shaping graduate education—from increased enrollment in health-focused programs to expanded professional development through record-breaking virtual workshops and the launch of new graduate orientations. The year also marked significant investments in doctoral student success, including new dissertation completion and research grants, the introduction of graduate certificates in artificial intelligence and implementation science, and new leadership in graduate admissions. Together, these efforts reflect a continued commitment to supporting graduate students, faculty, and programs, while advancing the future of graduate education at UofM.
