Originally named the Pantages Theatre, the Warner Theatre, at 52 S. Main, was the most ornate of all movie palaces built in Memphis. It opened in April 30, 1921 and was sold to Warner Brothers in 1929. It was renamed and remodeled for sound films. It was sold again in 1968 and demolished. In this image one of the last three 13,000 lbs support beams is being removed.
