Brief account that large earthquakes can be felt over a large area. Notes that an earthquake on March 31, 1761 was felt in Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Portugal , Spain, Macedonia, south Barbary, Barbados and Madeira.

It would seem that the shock of an earthquake may be almost co-extensive with the globe. In the year 1761, on the 31st day of March, a shock was felt in Scotland, in Ireland, in Holland, in Portugal and Spain, in Macedonia, in South Barbary, at Barbadoes, and in the Madeiras.-(ib.
