Abstract
Brief account from the Frankfort Argus that between 40 and 50 boats had been destroyed on the Mississippi River . Notes that the damage had been severe in the New Madrid area. Slight earthquakes were reported to be still occurring in the Frankfort area.

We have understood that the earthquake has destroyed 40 or 50 boats on the Mississippi: we fear that the damage in that quarter has been considerable. Slight shocks still continue to be felt. Frankfort Argus.
