Brief report from Prairie Du Chein on the February 6, 1812 earthquake. It notes that it was “severely felt there”
Transcript
We learn by letters from Prairie du Chein, 600 miles north of this place, that the earthquake has been severely felt there. By these letters we also learn that the British are sending belts through all the Indian nations, offering every inducement to take up the hatchet against the U. States.
