Abstract
Felt report of the February 7, 1812 earthquake at Charleston, South Carolina: “On Friday Evening at 22 minutes before 9 o’clock a slight shock of an earthquake was felt in this city. its continuation was not longer than half a minute. At 8 minutes before 11 o’clock, of the same evening another shock was felt, which continued for two minutes. It was accompanied with a noise like a violent wind, and several flashes of very sharp lightning. The sky was partially obscured by clouds, but stars frequently appeared hazy. The vibration was E. And W. Twelve distinct shocks have now been felt.”

MORE EARTHQUAKES. On Friday evening, at 22 minutes before 9 o'clock, a slight shock of an earthquake was felt in this city. Its continuance was not longer than half a minute. At 8 minutes before 11 o'clock, of the same evening, another shock was felt, which continued for two minutes.
