Abstract
Notice that earthquakes are being felt in Kaskaskia after the the February 7, 1812 earthquake. Notes people leaving the area due to cracks in the earth.
Transcript
Information of the tenth of February from respectable authority at Kaskaskia states.-- 'The earthquakes still continue, and we have lately had some tremendous shocks, which have thrown down great numbers of chimnies and injured many houses. Major Morrison has sustained considerable injury, Judge Thomas's chimney fell. Many of the people of Kaskaskia have left town in consequence of some cracks in the earth.
