Transcript
MR. EVANS-A severe shock of an earthquake was felt here, this morning, between the hours of nine and ten; its duration was several minutes; its course, evidently, from south to north; thermometer 46, in a close room. This shock was much more violent than that of the 16th December; and from the uncommon weather, lately experienced on our coast; we may conclude, some violent concussion of water has happened or is about to happen: we must look for security and repose, to that place "where the wicked cease from troubling, and the good find rest!"
