Abstract
Felt report for the December 16, 1811 earthquake at Frankfort, Kentucky. Time of the first shock was at 2:35 am. The quake was preceded by the sound of thunder. Several other shocks were felt throughout the morning. Damage was noted as being “ the front chimney of the new court house fell off...” Houses “shook exceedingly”

EARTHQUAKE On Monday morning last, about 35 minutes after 2 o'clock, A.M. this places experienced a very severe shock of an earth quake, preceded by a rubbing noise.-Three or four shocks not so severe, succeeded it in the course of the morning. The houses sunk excessively. The top of the front chimney of the new court house fell off. A slight shock was again felt about 11 o'clock on Tuesday (yesterday).
