Abstract

Upon receiving the dead body of his long estranged son, a grieving retired General tries to comprehend the last eight months of his son's life by writing a series of wildly imaginative stories presenting a hypersymbolic depiction of his son's journey and transformation from a revenge-filled killer to a man who is "ready to believe in good again." Not only will this imaginative project help the General grapple with the estrangement and death of his son, but also help him grapple with his own doubts and fears about life.
