Goner Records was founded in 1993 to put out underappreciated music, beginning with Tokyo's Guitar Wolf and Memphis' Oblivians and Reatards. In 2004 they opened their brick-and-mortar store at 2152 Young Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. Starting in 2005, Goner Records has hosted Gonerfest, a multi-day music festival in Memphis, showcasing Goner Records bands. Gonerfest Program Guides are created for that year’s festival. The guides include musical performances, schedules, band and music write-ups, food and tourism recommendations, maps, advertisements, and photos. The guides further document Memphis’ punk, garage rock, post-punk, and punk adjacent music scenes.
