Description
"From dusty villages high in the mountains of Guatemala to the windswept coastal range of southern Chile, Volunteer farmers, nurses, artists, laborers, university teachers and others are helping to bring the concept of community development to a wide variety of local citizens. The specific Peace Corps project may range from school construction to agricultural extension to handicrafts cooperatives, but the intent is always the same: to help the community realize that its own best hope for a better future lies in its people." -- [p. 7]
