These videos were filmed by Dr. John Shaw beginning in the late 1990s or early 2000s as part of ethnomusicological research, originally with regard to Black marching bands and drumlines. Eventually, videos were made of jazz groups, blues artists, New Orleans brass bands, a Haitian rara group, and many other styles of music, and/or interviews. While these videos have, for the most part, been shared on social media, they remain the work of Dr. Shaw and may be used for non-profit purposes, but only with attribution. Use of this content for any for-profit or commercial venture will be by requested permission from Dr. Shaw at [email protected], the terms subject to neogitation and at Dr. Shaw's consent, as well as in some cases the people filmed.
