Description

Vol. 1:16 of "The Moon", an illustrated weekly edited by W.E.B. DuBois and published in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 17, 1906. This copy is addressed to Robert R. Church, Jr. The magazine was the first nationally illustrated weekly produced by and for Blacks. The experience was short-lived, however, with only thirty-four issues produced from the end of 1905 through July or early August of 1906.
