Description
Image of a young man with tinted rosy cheeks. The image is an ambrotype that has been mounted in a decorative case. An ambrotype is created as a positive image on a sheet of glass using the wet plate collodian process. The result is an image consisting of a negative, usually underexposed. It is mounted against a dark background, then mounted in a case. An ambrotype, unlike the daguerreotype, can be seen from all angles.
