Description
Studio portrait of Sue White of Tennessee. She is credited with winning Tennessee’s ratification as the 36th State. She was also involved with the Prison Special, a national tour of women who had been jailed for picketing for suffrage, that was covered exclusively by "The Suffragist." White is quoted in the exhibit, "The political fate of the Democratic Party rests upon the outcome of the policy of the National Women's Party to push the Susan B. Anthony amendment through Congress this session." This image was included in the exhibit, "Suffrage First: Tennessee and Women's Right to Vote."
