Abstract

The collection is predominantly composed of postcards of Memphis, Tennessee, covering most of the twentieth century. The postcards document the city and its relationship to the Mississippi River, its streets, buildings and parks. There are some cards from beyond Memphis and a group of cards used for correspondence and advertising, as well as some with photographic portraits and scenes.
