Abstract

The Charles F. Holmes papers document the work of Holmes as press liaison for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department during the trial of James Earl Ray, accused of assassinating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, in Memphis in 1968. The collection consists of correspondence, notes, photographs, forms and press releases.
