Abstract

Dr. Aaron M. Boom was a former professor of history at Memphis State University for over 30 years, acting as a long term professor and chair of the department of History. This collection contains research material that Boom accumulated over his tenure at the university and covers numerous research topics including the Tennessee Valley Authority, agriculture, and numerous historical figures. Dr. Boom accumulated a large amount of genealogical materials on the families of General John Coffee and Edward Asbury O'Neal, III. The genealogical materials consist of personal correspondence, genealogical charts, photographs, newspaper clippings, and Dr. Boom's notes related to the two families.
