    Abstract

    The Joseph Miles papers contains a pocket diary covering an approximately three-month period in 1864, detailing the daily life of a United States Civil War solider. It also contains two letters written to his father while he was away, a notebook from 1906-1907, a report card for his younger sister, a list of members of the Miles family, and a few letters written in 1914.
