The James M. Sowell papers contain materials, predominantly from the 1940s, belonging to or regarding Sowell, a Memphian who was a renowned stunt parachutist, daredevil, veteran, and businessman. He was featured many times in local newspapers like the Commercial Appeal and the Memphis Press-Scimitar.
