Description
Copy photograph of the first Peabody Hotel (left) on Main Street in Memphis, Tennessee, circa 1890. The hotel was built in 1869 and remained one of the city's finest until 1923. The building was demolished subsequently and Lowenstein's department store was built on the site. The hotel moved to a new building on Union Avenue that opened in 1925.
