Description

Flooded area in Memphis, Tennessee, possibly near the Fisher Lumber Company between Thomas Street and Second Street near the Wolf River, during the Mississippi River flood of 1927. The photographer may have been Orville F. Long whose name is printed on the return address of the envelope the prints were received in. An electrical engineer who worked for the Fisher Lumber Company, Long was its powerhouse superintendent in 1930.
