Description
W. J. Michael Cody, circa 1970. Cody, an attorney at Burch, Porter & Johnson, Memphis, Tennessee, represented Martin Luther King, Jr. during the 1968 sanitation workers' strike and helped create what would become Memphis Area Legal Services. He was also Attorney General of Tennessee from 1984 to 1988.
