Page three of a photograph album belonging to Adele Orgill. Images are of her family and friends in Memphis, Bolivar and traveling, circa 1917. Adele Orgill, born 1898, was the daughter of Joseph and Adele Kendrick Orgill of Memphis, Tennessee. Her family owned Orgill Brothers and Company, a large hardware firm. During World War II, Adele Orgill served with the Red Cross Motor Corps, she was president of the Memphis Junior League and a member of Les Passees. She was president emeritus of the Memphis Humane Society renowned for her devotion to helping those in need, people and animals.
