Description
Group of men seated in a room with easels, bunting and stacked cans displaying Libby’s food products, undated (circa 1935). The photographer was C.H. Poland, Memphis. Libby, McNeill and Libby was founded in 1869 in Chicago, Illinois, and produced canned meat. By 1900 the company had expanded to canning fruit and vegetables and in the 1920s it was acquired by Swift and Company. In 1970, it was purchased by Nestlé.
