The reminiscence of United States Navy officer Charles H. Baxter (1835-1917) who served on the U.S.S. "Genesee" in the Battle of Mobile Bay during the Civil War. Covering the period 1863-1864, it was written in New York and dated August 27, 1881. A transcription is available in the finding aid.
