Description
Cartoon drawn by Joseph L. Parrish (1905-1989) of the Nashville "Tennessean" in 1932 showing the bloody hand of Memphis, Tennessee, political boss E.H. Crump reaching for the State Capitol in Nashville. The words: "I am "good government"!" are written in a speech bubble. At the top of the cartoon is written:""The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hand is the hand of Esau"". The "Tennessean" opposed Crump's candidate in the Democratic gubernatorial primary that year.
