Description

Built in 1858 as a ladies' finishing college, State Female College at 908 E. McLemore, was also used to billet Union soldiers during the Civil War. The college closed in 1870 during the Yellow Fever epidemic and later became a 12 unit apartment house. It was condemned in 1956 and demolished in 1957.
