Description
Founded September 6, 1923, The Universal Life Insurance Co. was dedicated to “improving the economic condition of people of color.” In 1949 the company was moved from Beale street to the Egyptian Revival style building at 480 Linden (now 480 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue).
