Description
View of the carved oak dining room table and chairs in John Wright Johnson's house at 3550 Central, Memphis. The dining set was modeled in 1928 on a set imported from England by R.M. Carrier. The table is made of solid oak pieces and constructed without the use of nails or screws. The oak linen-fold doors behind the table separated the dining room from the front hall and living room. Johnson carved the doors with the assistance of Leo Barthol.
