Description

The Brooks Memorial Art Gallery, now known as the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, is one of the largest art museums in the South. The gallery opened to the public in 1916 thanks to a donation to the city made by Bessie Vance Brooks in honor of her late husband, Samuel Brooks.
