Description
The Japanese themed section of Overton Park was built in the early 1900s at the direction of Robert Galloway. It contained Japanese lanterns and stone works, an arched wooden bridge and a "snow-covered" Mt. Fujiyama in the middle of the lake. It was demolished due to anti-Japanese sentiment following the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941.
