Albert King performing onstage, June 1969. Albert King, born Albert Nelson, was an influential blues guitarist and singer noted for his smooth voice and large stature. He was ranked no. 13 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and is one of three performers (together with B. B. King and Freddie King) known as the "Kings of the Blues."
