Description

Dr. Walter Walker, President of LeMoyne-Owen College, presents Jerry Johnson, Magicians basketball coach, with the Outstanding Faculty award. Standing left to right: Lee Sanders, Mrs. and Mr. Jerry Johnson, Dr. Willie Herenton, and Dr. Walter Walker. Dr. Herenton was the superintendent of the Memphis City Schools at the time. He would later become Memphis' first elected African American mayor. He is also an alumnus of LeMoyne-Owen College.
