Dr. S.A. Owen (left), Superintendent of Memphis City Schools Ernest C. Ball (center), and college president Levi Watkins (right) in commencement regalia at Owen College. S.A. Owen Junior College was founded in 1954 and became Owen Junior College in 1957. The college merged with LeMoyne College in 1968.
