Description
"Front Street" poem by W.J. Britton, who was a cotton classer in 1914 for E.M. Crump and then opened his own company in Memphis in 1919. He was known as the poet of Front Street and wrote many articles and poems about this once vibrant and colorful place. This plaque is on the exterior of the Cotton Exchange Building.
