Description
Mid-America Mall in Memphis, Tennessee, looking north near Court Square, circa 1980. The section of Main Street between Poplar Avenue and Peabody Place was converted to a pedestrian mall to revive the area and was dedicated by President Gerald Ford in 1976. The decline was not reversed and in the 1990s the mall was renamed the Main Street Mall and trolley cars were reintroduced with the new reconstruction.
