    Description

    An embossed postcard of the Cossitt Library on the corner of Front Street and Monroe Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, date-stamped 1914. The family of Frederick H. Cossitt donated $75,000 to build a library which was eventually constructed of red sandstone in the Romanesque style designed by L.B. Wheeler. It opened in 1893 and was added to over the years until the 1958 renovation when the original building was demolished.
