Description

Postcard view of the U.S. Custom House in Memphis, Tennessee, circa 1900, photographed by J.C. Coovert. The building was constructed on Front Street in the 1880s to house the U.S. Custom House but it provided space for several other federal offices. It was later remodeled substantially. During its history, the building served as the federal courthouse, a post office, and the law school of the University of Memphis since 2010.
