Description
Postcard photograph of a family stranded in the high water at Auction Avenue and Main Street, Memphis, Tennessee, during the 1913 Mississippi River flood. The caption along the bottom reads "Several of Clyde's girls" The caption on the side reads "Doesn't this look tempting." The note, written to Miss Helen Greer, Sledge, Miss, reads "How's the little Girl, received your card several days ago, Does the water ever get this bad in the Big City of Sledge, Clyde has to swim though this to get to work. MBB"
