Description

Architectural rendering of Rivergate Square seen from Second Street and Exchange Avenue, circa 1980. The architect was Hall & Waller & Associates. The design is for a hotel on the site that became the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza built in 1985 (later the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel). The Cook Convention Center can be seen behind the hotel. The proposed complex also included another high rise building towards I-40.
