Description

"Carriers’ Annual Address to the Patrons of the Washington Gazette on Saturday, January 1st, 1876." The "Washington Gazette" newspaper, Washington, D.C., was published by George Washington Alexander (1829-1895), formerly commandant of the Confederate military prison Castle Thunder in Richmond, Virginia, from 1862 to 1864.
