Description

The regimental band of the U.S. Army 115th Field Artillery of Memphis, Tennessee, in South Carolina, around 1918. Photographer: Sargeant Photo Co., Columbia, S.C.

Originally the First Tennessee Infantry when mustered into service in Nashville in early 1917, it became the 115th Field Artillery after arriving at Camp Sevier in Greenville, South Carolina, in September 1917. After training until May 1918, the regiment left for New York and then sailed to France in June and saw service there.
