    Description

    A class of trainees studying the theory is synchronizing a machine gun so that it will fire through the arc of an aeroplane propeller without striking the blades, Naval Air Technical Training Center, Millington, Tennessee, 1944. During World War II, Naval Air Station Memphis was a primary flight training center for aviators. It had a training capacity of about 600 flight cadets, and could support up to 10,000 cadets for ground crew training. In 1943, the training facility was designated as the N.A.T.T.C.
