Description

Students working in groups to properly align the aircraft to a target screen (boresighting), Naval Air Technical Training Center, Millington, Tennessee, 1944. During World War II, Naval Air Station Memphis was a primary flight training center for aviators. It had a training capacity of about 600 flight cadets, and could support up to 10,000 cadets for ground crew training. In 1943, the training facility was designated as the N.A.T.T.C.
