Description
A colorized postcard view of the Main Gate to the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Millington, Tennessee, 1940s. The station Post Office can be seen to the left and the Security Building to the right. During World War II, Naval Air Station Memphis was a primary flight training center for aviators. It had a training capacity of about 600 flight cadets, and could support up to 10,000 cadets for ground crew training. In 1943, the training facility was designated as the NATTC.
