Description
Students of the West Tennessee State Normal School Latin Club performing "Demeter and Persephone" and "Pan Pipes" in 1921. Ellen Davies played Demeter, Willie Deverell played Persephone, and the playmates of Persephone were played by Katherine Whitaker, Ina Compton, Frances Burch, Fannie Stevens, Maud Somerville, and Louise Verdel. The faun was played by Charles Glasscock and Cloris was played by Katherine Whitaker. This composite photograph was published in the 1921 "DeSoto" yearbook.
